Feeling uber-hyper off of caffeine, I figured now was as good a time as any to dive into the Euro Summer extravaganza.
I’m off to Greece in a few weeks (and potentially another location too… TBD) for a cousins wedding (still have no idea what I’m wearing) and if you couldn't tell, I’m pretty effing excited.
The only thing occupying my mind- and Pinterest board, is WTF I will be wearing in Europe. It’s the summer of sequins, pearl necklaces, beach hats, sheer dresses, and bikinis that are just on the verge of being inappropriate to wear in front of family members.
Beginning with the inspiration, as always.
This is the summer of the skirt for me. Long, mini, midi, you name it- I’m here for it. I have officially come to the conclusion that a white tee, and mini skirt is my ideal summer outfit. Naturally, the home page of my Pinterest feed would agree. Along side the mini-skirt craze, I have been infatuated with pearls and beads both on clothing, and as jewelry pieces.
My summer muses this year are Valentina Muntoni, Olive Tervenski, Sophie Coote, Gabs Gofis (always), Lucy Williams (specifically on her most recent trip to Greece), and my Mom circa 1992 (she knew what was up). I feel a gravitational pull to all of the names I mentioned above. Their outfits, and overall vibes enthral me like no other. Inspiration to me loosely structured- I still want things to be my own. I don’t look for things to copy specifically, I don’t think anyone should. Instead I keep an open mind and save everything that makes me ~feel something~. Whether it’s a pattern, the way a shirt is tucked in, an entire outfit, or something as simple as a hairstyle.
What I’ve added to my cart (and some things that have been purchased), for my rendition of a EURO summer.
I’m wading in the water at the moment, I haven’t dove in fully just yet. This is partially because I am heading to NYC next week… and there is no better place to shop. The second half of this is that I want my purchases to be applicable to everyday life also, or at least to be timeless enough that I will wear them on vacations for years to come.
