It’s no secret that comfort is my #1 priority. 9/10 times I opt for the loose pant, the oversized sweatshirt, or the XL coat. However, there is a very fine line between looking sloppy, and looking chic when wearing oversized clothing.
Here’s every look I wore this week (including my “sloppy” at home-lounge look), that allowed me to stay both comfortable, and presentable.
This look encountered everything, from sitting in traffic for 3+ hours, to a Formula Fig facial, to inhaling 2 slices of pizza on the side of the road. A key take away- slightly oversized dress pants, feel like sweats.
Wearing an oversized H&M premium wool bomber, an Akimbo Club hoodie, Aritzia dress pants, my beloved Khaite belt, Hereu loafers, and a Nothing Written bag.
“Dressing up” this sweater is one of my favourite things to do. This oversized blanket of a cardigan keeps the look casual, and comfortable.
Wearing a hand-knit Meara Goods cardigan, RE ONA long sleeve, vintage Levis 550’s, Khaite belt, Vagabond Shoemakers boots, Crap Eyewear sunglasses and Nothing Written bag.
My “recycled obsession” is Onitsuka tigers. As a former owner of the bright yellow pair, I forgot how comfortable these sneakers are. While bright yellow sneakers didn’t exactly fit my wardrobe aesthetic, the black pair was the perfect edition to my closet.
Wearing a Sezane jumper, Sezane white tee, Deiji Studios pants, Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66, Polene bag, and Lexxola sunglasses.
A shopping look. Always, ALWAYS wear your most worn pieces when shopping. This will give you such a clear indication on whether or not a new piece can seamlessly integrate into your wardrobe.
Wearing a James Street Co. sweater, Sezane white tee, Khaite belt, Levis 501 90’s (my tightest pair of denim, lol), Onitsuka Tiger sneakers, and a Cala Jade bag.
I’ve always associated silver with dressing up, fancy outings, parties, sparkles, etc., you get it. However, in the last few months, I have been obsessed with pairing silver with darker toned neutrals, such as grey and brown to add some dimension to a look.
Wearing an H&M premium wool bomber, James Street Co. sweater, Donni thermal pants, Salomon x Slam Jam sneakers, Cala Jade bag, and Lexxola sunglasses.
Brown and blue is a colour combo that I never gave much thought, until this Fall. Quickly, it became my favourite combination, I’ll let the picture speak for itself.
Wearing an old James Street Co. sweater, Donni thermal pants, Aritzia socks, Onitsuka Tiger sneakers, and a Nunoo bag.
This is what I look like until noon, everyday. I’m guilty of picking one “lounge outfit” for the week, and throwing it on every morning until I’m ready to get dressed. My unwritten rule about lounge outfits is don’t make them TOO frumpy. I’ve actually gotten rid of every piece of clothing that I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving the house in.
Wearing a NAADAM cashmere sweater, James Street Co. pants, Skims bra, and Aritzia socks. Would pair this with North Face slippers, Digo Studio bag & JS Co. hat if I was leaving the house.
