Hi, I’m so glad you’re here.
I've never been one for long, graceful introductions, so I figured we would just jump right into the details.
Winning by a landslide, my most frequently asked question of the season: “Where is this knit from? Please do a collection of all of your knitwear!”, it only seemed appropriate to christen UNDONE by giving you a peek into my closet, and walking you through my favourite knits; where they’re from, what they’re made of, and what’s next on my knitwear wish list.
The slouchy v-neck that went semi-viral is actually H&M.
Am I the only one who didn’t know H&M had a premium section until about 2 months ago? I made a promise to myself earlier this year to try my VERY best to only buy pieces that were made from quality fabrics, to ensure longevity of my clothing. This seemed to mean only browsing, and shopping small businesses & luxury brands 99% of the time. While I could only hope that one day that my closet only consists of Khaite, The Row, and all of my favourite sustainable small businesses, my wallet has other plans at the moment. This H&M sweater is made of 100% wool, I’m sold.
The Uncle Studios knit that stole my heart is back for pre-order.
I somehow managed to integrate the sentence “red is not my colour, it doesn’t do anything for me” into almost every conversation leading up to FW23, in a frantic panic that I couldn't wear the colour of the season. However, Uncle Studios surely proved me wrong by creating the most delicious red jumper I have ever laid eyes on. I sincerely apologize to all the close friends who heard my spiel, and had to painfully encourage me that I do, in fact, look good in red.
The cloud-like cardigan of my dreams.
You know you’re excited about a purchase, when you decide to wear a thick, fluffy cardigan outside on a 25 degree celsius summer day. Hand knit by a friend of mine, Tianna, in collaboration with Adrienne, the founder of Meara Goods, this cardigan is the softest, coziest piece I own. I have shamelessly cuddled this sweater to sleep once or twice. Without a doubt, my most worn piece of the season, and worth every penny (if I could afford to, I would gift everyone I love this sweater for Christmas).
James Street Co. knits are my closet holy-grail.
Four and counting in my collection, the Sloane Vee is my newest edition. The most versatile grey V-neck that I can throw on with any outfit. Cursed with the most sensitive skin, I was slightly hesitant to purchase another wool sweater. Yet, this 100% extra-fine Merino Wool piece is the FIRST wool sweater that hasn’t caused an uncomfortable itch in years. James Street Co. operates on a small-batch basis, so once it’s gone, it’s not coming back. My other JS sweaters are unfortunately from past seasons, however, check their archive site for previous collection gems. I just bought a sample colour of the Luxe Fran Mohair knit, and I can’t wait to style it.
My past-season/archive James Street Co. collection.
The most “Dainty” sweater in my collection.
In my opinion, Sézane has made immense strides this Fall, by tapping heavily into the influencer-gifting market, and creating classic-coveted designs at a moderate price point. I have this cardigan in both, grey and red, and LOVE to utilize it as a layering piece. In complete transparency, this sweater is not for those with sensitive skin. I have yet to conquer this cardigan without a long-sleeve or tee underneath. I don’t especially love the composition of this sweater, being 37% Super kid mohair, 37% Baby Alpaca, 26% Polyamide. Ironic that I have two of them. I only genuinely recommend this if your skin is invincible.
