If I was only allowed one wardrobe staple, this would be it. I resonate the most with 90’s fashion; simple looks, jeans and sweatshirts, nothing too loud, but everyone somehow always being so put together. This is what the white t-shirt embodies for me. The perfect garment that has the power to transform your outfit if worn properly. What do I mean by proper? Picking the perfect shape of white tee to complement your look (e.g., are we choosing a baby tee? vintage cut? oversized tee? etc). My personal preference is choosing a baby tee, or some sort of slimmer tee when wearing a straight leg jean, or pants that are not super baggy. I opt for an oversized tee (sometimes graphic) when wearing baggier pants, and then using a belt to create some shape.
Here is the rundown of white t-shirt’s I own (that I can find the links for), and some extra tees that I also want to add into my closet.
I wear both size XS, and S. I prefer the XS if I’m wearing the shirt standalone, but the S is great under sweaters (I have 4 of these).
I have 3 different brandy tee’s all from about ~5 years ago. This is the closest one I could find to the 3 in my closet. Brandy Melville basics are exceptional quality, and an exceptional price. I will die on that hill.
Oversized graphic perfection. One thing I LOVE about this tee is how high the neckline comes up. I wear a M in this, and I believe they’re restocking at the end of the month.
Another great oversized graphic for layering, or wearing on its own. I wear a M in this also.
A note- I have a few other tee’s from Aritzia that are about 4 years old, that I can’t find links for.
A few recommendations:
Shop RLT Baby Tee. I’ve heard amazing things about this t-shirt and definitely will be purchasing in the near future.
LESET Margo Tee. I always recommend this to people as a great standalone t-shirt with some more shape.
A Pointelle by LESET. I love LESET, their quality is seriously amazing.
Another fantastic option by FLORE FLORE.
Merge Dream Tee. I have this in both Grey and black and love it.
